What is a slug?
A slug is the path to a url, it shows and defines the page being accessed in the address bar in the browser. For example, the slug on this page is “string-slug”. A good slug makes all the difference to a page’s SEO. The smaller and more objectively descriptive a slug is, the better your page will be viewed by search engines and your visitors. This tool transforms / converts a string, which is a piece of text, into a friendly slug, formed by letters, numbers and hyphens. But it is possible to change the hyphen separator to underline or another custom separator for other purposes.
